This delightful cottage offers attractive and extremely comfortable accommodation. It is located is close to urban Sweden, but a world away from the stress of city living. The property is set on the village green where you are surrounded by nothing but lush greenery, large trees, and quietness.
A traditional wooden property it offers charming and comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people and would suit a family or a group of friends. There is also an optional extra sleeping cabin that can be rented to accommodate four additional guests.
The cottage has a well-equipped kitchen with dining area, two bedrooms, living room with direct access onto a spacious south-facing veranda with comfortable outdoor furniture and BBQ. It has all the modern amenities you would expect including a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, dishwasher and washing machine. It is available all year round; there is nothing more relaxing than watching the sparkling of an open fireplace during the cooler months.
It is well placed for exploring the surrounding nature and is within a short walking distance to the lake with its sauna.
The village green offers enough room for playing and fun for the little children. But you also have the possibility for picking blueberries, lingonberries, wild raspberries, depending on season, or just go mushrooming for chanterelles in the surrounding forest. You may also see signs of moose, fox, reindeer, many varieties of birds and even bear or wolf.

We also offer generous discounts for extended stay and/or multiple cottages (contact us for details), which means that staying with us is a perfect alternative for companies with travelling employees or for large groups. We have all in all 22 beds in our cottages to rent out.

By Car:
Our recommended route is to travel on the E4 motorway and approx. 30 km north of Gävle take the 303 exit at Hagsta/Hakke Gård. Follow the 303 towards Ockelbo. Drive approx. 13 km and where Ockelbo starts (by the huge sign "Välkommen till Ockelbo") turn left on the gravel road marked "Kolforsen 6". Drive 6 km on the road until you come to Kolforsen. In the middle of the village, by a sheep field on the left-hand side, turn left on another gravel road and your cottage is the blue one behind the red car port marked with wooden sign"45 Mackenzie Cottage" just after the sheep field on the right-hand side.

By Public Transport:
Trains and buses in Sweden are modern and fast. There are train and bus connections to Ockelbo, but in general you will have to change in Gävle. We can arrange pickup on arrival and drop off at departure from Ockelbo train and bus station.
