Can I book just one night?

Unfortunately, we only rent for 2 nights minimum. You can always contact us to ask if there are any dates that would offer this possibility.

How is the arrival?

Before your arrival for your stay, you will receive an email (5 days before) with information about your stay. If you have any questions related to your reservation, contact us; we are happy to help.

What are the arrival and departure times?

Arrival is at 15:00 and departure is at 12:00 to ensure cleanliness upon arrival. Please contact us to see if early/late check-in/out is possible.

What is included?

A starter kit will be prepared for you:

  • Fully equipped kitchen for cooking.
  • Dish soap and dishwasher.
  • Dish towels and dishcloth.
  • Television (without cable).
  • High-speed internet.
  • Toilet paper rolls and paper towels.
  • Cleaning materials.
  • Bedlinen and towels if ordered.

Is Bedlinen & Towels included?

You are more than welcome to bring your own Bedlinen & Towels, but you can also rent them from SWESCOT. There is a charge 100SEK per person.

Is cleaning included?

It is common in Sweden guests clean up before departure from any rental.

There is a cleaning check list provided in each cottage in the guest handbook. If a guest fails to leave the cottage in a tidy condition for the next check-in guests, there is a penalty fee of 2000SEK.

We offer a cleaning service that must be booked in advance for 1200SEK.

Are animals accepted?

Pets allowed only by prior arrangement. There is one-off cost of 150 SEK per animal.

Can we smoke inside the cottages?

Smoking inside the cottages is strictly prohibited.

Is there a BBQ outside?

Each cottage has a barbecue & tongs/utensils. Charcoal for the barbecue is not included but can be bought at any petrol station.

Is there a fireplace inside?

K45 Mackenzie Cottage has a wood burning fireplace; however, wood is not included but you can easily purchase it at a petrol station.

K46 Wallace Cottage has an ethanol burning fireplace. This cottage is equipped with a modern Daikin Hot Air Pump that provides heating & air conditioning, so the fireplace is only for decoration. You can request we provide ethanol for additional charge.

Is there an internet connection?

We have high-speed Internet; it is possible to telecommute without hassle.

What is the cancellation policy?

A full refund 5 days prior to arrival, except fees.

If the guest cancels less than 5 days in advance, the first night is not refundable but 50% of the accommodation fees for remaining nights will be refunded.

If the guest arrives and decides to leave early, 50% of the accommodation fees for the nights not spent after 24 hours after the cancellation occurs are refunded.

Cleaning fees are always refunded if you did not check in.

Is the parking available at cottage?

Yes, parking is directly outside each cottage. Please note that for people with reduced mobility, the Mackenzie Cottage has a few steps to ascend.

What are the activities to do in the area?

There is an abundance of activities for all seasons in the Kolforsen area. Refer to the To Do section. We encourage you to book your own activities as early as possible.

Where do I book my stay?

You can book the cottages directly through the SWESCOT website. Or of you would prefer our cottages are also listed on AirBnB, Booking.com and Google Vacation Rentals.

How do I pay for my booking?

Credit Card

Done via the website or upon arrival by using an iZettle machine.

We only accept Swedish kroner or Euro cash. If you pay in Euros your change will be Swedish kroner.
